VICFCU Helps Families in Need
Valley Isle Community FCU, along with other credit unions on Maui teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to help build houses in the Waiehu Kou IV subdivision. Some 45 participants representing nine credit unions took on the challenge. Habitat staff worked with us and provided excellent support and training for all participants. No specific skills were needed, just a willingness to learn. Volunteers did various jobs from cleaning up the job site, to hammering siding to putting up trestles.
At the end of the day, there was a real sense of accomplishment and the credit unions made a positive impact in the lives of local families.
